you all right you're ready special call meeting 1510 School Board okay is 920 Thirty February the and we have first thing to do is do a roll call all right Mr Browns here Mr Maguire president Mr blasting there just Breeze here Dr Brown chair the statement here this turn here Mr Wilson Mr Miller here all right all are present you have a quorum Okay so Mr chairman I make a motion to hire the Lewis Thompson legal firm out of Nashville to serve as our litigation attorney in the D6 second okay roll call question hold on hold on I'm not I'm not discussion we already had our discussion you still can have a discussion my question is is pursuing to the engagement February 6th letter yes thank you further discussion all right whenever we're ready um so I don't have that letter in front of question of uh of working with uh what is it called Eddie the determining Teach for America that was discussed in our previous session based upon the comments of attorney and how this would have could affect our the safe case I would recommend that we do great to work on contract with teach America starting with the 2512 um for the of 26 academic 25 26th Academic Year that's my motion discussion so you don't have a second here not a second first second second okay this is are respecting the costs and 198,000 or so that's the max amount okay 6,500 per teacher per teacher okay they're they have yes they have a 20 platforms is ghee inclusive and this is why I very much and my composition to this still standing we move discussion do we have a choice in this matter yes if we say no we got we shot that 1 to the 2 I would like to let Mr Miner make a comment if you don't mind the very fundamental core of the minority recruiting hiring and retention plan is to address diversity equity and inclusion I don't know that that needs to I mean that that's the very core of that plan that we've now adopted and speech for America in my experience has a track record that can produce teachers because like Eddie earlier you don't have to have an education degree or be on path to be a teacher to find a pathway to become a teacher through the teacher for America program I think it's you talked about 303% retain rate the company this is 2023 I'm not sure where your success is at but is 50% 100 uh retention rate after 2 years 13 my problem with this is we're not forced to go with this company okay we already have a company that we already have and recruiting they already know that how many companies do we have and agreement did not say they were going to hire this company and force us to pay this amount when I when we can take that money and say hey if you have 6,500 extra perks to do this plus their salary and benefits how will you take comply to the hiring bonus and we retain them and talk about training your own we're going to transfer 2 years and they're going to lead the trend okay the problem with Statistics though that you know is is prime minister Des Riley said there are statistics and then there are  statistics I I would appreciate that but you're using wow I'm saying is is it prudent for us we have a financial issue we have finances been issued going forward saying by the way accounting we can waste 198,000 15 this is from Mr I asked specific questions and it's 98,500 expected we need to take we're already going to enter into a contract for engagement with uh uh I'm sorry RPF to do with the online training and online store so this is long-term not good for a short message is not good for us and we already have a contractor that we engage with in 2024 I'm on the board when this occurred and we're already doing this why are we having another contractor be the same thing we already have you're only doing the D or super dense not here but she's already have all this place we have that enough money to pay that company just to put a person in the seat and we have enough money to put the bonus okay take that 5,000 to 1,500 correct let me let me make 1 more statement then I'll do with this Mr Kim didn't they in under this plan in a a addition to their program that was just started was the recruitment of local people correct that is where the difference is Mr President that's where I think we can make benefit with it that's where I think we will keep the people because they're going to be local people just because they bring someone to us we do not have to accept them we can accept the ones that we think will be worthwhile for us and make it gives our school another alternative it gives the the lawyer another defense we may not spend a dime with them so there's no minimum I also know the statistics that you just gave have changed um they actually have increased since 2024 don't come to the point yeah they didn't change so they have seen where teachers are being retained through the program and that's right but my my problem of it is is is this a lot of money that you're you're asking us for undetermined result statistically historically they're not a performer but we're not going to retain them and we are already under the gun under the low salary we're already competing so we're going to bring these people in they're going to be doing 2 year tenure and out the door they go I think we're going to have to agree to disagree on that for the question no I'm not I'm not ready so I'm not here with certain things about budget with John we're going to be extremely the meeting the obligations that we have and so what's the minimum and M I mean what what what should we expect next year we do this is roughly 200,000 I I don't I don't have an answer to the game I can answer that so so remember the way Teach for America is different from full line for instance so when we hire a full mind teacher that's 1 teacher there that contract for that 1 major um is about I'm doing this off top my head like 90 95 thousand dollars plus you pay the extra expense for a teacher assistant with Benefits yeah yeah yeah so that's for 1 so like 1 TFA teacher if they had a bachelor's degree that would be about 45,000 Plus benefits which would already be budgeted for that teaching slot anyway plus the plus an additional 6,500 for America and so basically it in essence if my math is Right 2 Teach for America teachers you get 2 basically for the price of 1 full line with an officer of my teachers once they are in that a program they they're not under a permit they're under job embedded which and and the difference is none of our current vendors are ppps mentor to these people then there's surveys they have to go through and all this I just had a huge problem with us the agent just just that time I think your word spanking in the wrong way I think District Department I passed with and I disagree I have there's a question before the board I would call for the question call for a question for the question so it's roll call yes Mr Rams who I could leave no muire yes the last thing absolutely not
